Frown Line Injection
What is a frown line?
One of the most obvious signs of aging and skin damage is frown lines. These unwanted wrinkles are located between or above your eyebrows and are usually vertical. Frowning lines are dynamic and develop over time. These lines appear as a result of normal facial movements and postures such as staring, wondering, angry or worried, and frowning.
Dynamic lines are wrinkles that are caused by repeated facial movements (such as smiling) on the skin.
Did you know that 43 muscles are for frowning and only 17 muscles are for smiling? So smile and let the other 26 muscles relax!
How do your frown lines form and become permanent?
Frequent contraction of the facial muscles, such as frowning or staring at the eyes, results in a loss of skin elasticity. In addition, low levels of collagen can make your skin look thinner and less able to maintain its smoothness.
Frowning lines may occur even on young skin because repetitive facial movements form them.
There are two types of frown lines:
Fixed type: which is also available in relaxation mode. This line is not eliminated by Botox injection alone and requires gel injection.
Type of movement: It means that there is no relaxation, this type is completely eliminated by injecting Botox and preventing frowning.
How Botox injection's frown line works
The muscles that control your forehead movements are the frontalis and the frown muscle. These muscles work together to form many facial expressions, including raising the eyebrows up and moving the eyebrows down.
Duration of treatment
The initial consultation session includes a general facial evaluation to determine the best method for you, so the first session lasts 30 minutes. After that, the review sessions will last approximately 15 minutes.
How long does it take for the results of frown line treatment to be visible?
Some patients report seeing treatment results within 2 days, while others report 7 to 14 days to see the full effect of Botox. Keep in mind that it will take some time to see results, and sometimes more than one treatment session is needed to achieve the desired result.
Convalescence
You can return to work and daily activities immediately after Botox injection. There will be a bulging spot in the injection site that will go away shortly after the injection.
Post-Botox care
During the consultation, the doctor will explain the post-treatment recommendations to you and you can have these recommendations in the form of a brochure. The important thing is that under no circumstances should the area be massaged or pressurized for 4 to 6 hours after treatment - this is to ensure that Botox does not move to adjacent tissues. Follow your doctor's advice and read the post-treatment care booklet carefully.
How often should I seek re-treatment?
The duration of the results varies from patient to patient, but usually most patients return for treatment after 3 to 4 months to prevent deepening of the static (permanent) lines in the frown line area.
Does Botox injection hurt the frown line?
We use the smallest possible needles to inject the medicine, and most patients have no problem with the pain of the injection - the pain of this injection is something like a mosquito bite.
