Beard Transplantation

Beard Transplantation

Beard Transplantation
Beard Transplants are performed in two ways, FUE and FIT.

In both methods, between 2,000 and 5,000 hair follicle transplants or more are extracted from the back of the head, usually from behind the ear or just below, and implanted in the face.

What is the procedure like?

harvest

FIT In the procedure, the first step is to shave the harvest area on your head.

This gives the doctor a clearer view of the hair follicles. You will be given a local anesthetic before harvesting, so you will not feel harvested or implanted.

Transplanting

Once the follicles have been removed from your head, your doctor will inject a local anesthetic into the area of your face where the hair follicles are placed. It then implants each follicle in your facial skin and shapes your new beard as you and your doctor agreed before surgery.

Improvement

You need one day to recover after a beard implant. Tiny scabs may form around any newly implanted hair follicles, but these scabs disappear within a few days.

But one caveat: Your new beard hair may fall out after 2 or 3 weeks. This is normal and after a while new hair grows to replace them.
